HIGHLIGHTS

The Atlas Mountains are the most famous north African mountain range with the highest peak above 4000m. And a perfect place to kick off a tour into the southern part of Morocco. On our journey we will travel through the Sahara plateau with its Erg Chegaga, a 150 km area surrounded by sand. Back to the roots with nights out sleeping in tents and having dinner at campfires, some of the highlights of the first half of the journey.

Once the Sahara plateau is left behind, the journey continues through the beauties of the Anti-Atlas with the significant difference to the rest of the Atlas as it is mainly created by vulcanic eruption. Tafraoute is the capital of Argan and for us the perfect city to stay overnight.

The journey ends on the coast line with an impressive stage along dunes on the coast of Agadir. The area surrounding Agadir is perfect to enjoy couple additional days out at the beach, bashing some waves before getting back to daily life.

Morocco is the cultural heart of Northern Africa. The Berbers lifestyle is an important part of today’s lifestyle in many regions. Between the regions there are three different types of Berbers, which you will get to know during the trip. A key point is their extremely welcoming hospitality, which usually starts off with a glass of Green Tea. We love the wide range and variation of the soil, riding through a great mix of sandy pists, rocky canyons and wide-open landscapes are some of the main attractions that we travel for.

Morocco is a safe place and easy to reach from all around the world with very inexpensive flights.

7-Day Tour

DURATION AND ITINERARY

This tour lasts for 7 days, with 5 days of riding. The package includes 6 overnight stays including breakfast and dinner. There is no rest day during the stages of the trail.

We have set the itinerary so that we are not under pressure from limited time and have flexibility on our day-to-day routes. We will have overnight stays in a variety of unique hotels or desert camps, eat authentic local cuisine, and visit the best spots on our way. The schedule also provides plenty of time in the evening to eat, drink, and be merry!

This beautiful adventure Morocco will occur as follows:

Day 1
Arrival in Quarzazate and bus transfer to Zagora the start point of the tour.

Day 2
Stage 1 from Zagora to Erg Chegaga with overnight in a desert camp.

Day 3
Stage 2 Erg Chegaga roundtrip to Lake Iriki with overnight in a desert camp in Erg Chegaga.

Day 4
Stage 3 Erg Chegaga to Tazarte with overnight in a desert camp.

Day 5
Stage 4 Tazarte to Tafraoute with overnight in a riad (maroccan guest house).

Day 6
Stage 5 Tafraoute to Agadir with overnight in a hotel.

Day 7
Departure from Agadir.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

Our tour guides ensure that your riding level is accommodated during the rides - the difficulty can vary from medium to extreme in the desert. Riders who struggle a lot in the sand have got the option to shorten the distances of the stages. On the stages with a large amount of dunes they are also able to follow the 4x4 tracks and stay within the range of the Pickup. On mountain tracks and pists the pace of the group will be determined by the less experienced rider to secure a safe journey for the whole group.

BEST TIME FOR THIS TRAIL

In Morocco, ideal weather conditions occur between November and April.

TRAVEL AND HOTEL TRANSFER

Airport of arrival is Quarzazate form where we will shuttle you by bus (approx 2,5 hours) to to Zagora the starting point of the tour.

In Zagora the tour manager will welcome you at the Hotel. The afternoon and evening are free. If you have questions about the best things to do and see around, just get into contact with the tour manager.

ACCOMMODATION AND BOARD

The first hotel will be in Zagora. During the stages, we will stay in comfortable traditional riads (Moroccan guest houses) and in desert camps. In the desert it will be quite cold once the sun moves behind the horizon. Take warm clothes and good shoes with you, a sleeping bag is not required. Breakfast and dinner are included. For lunch you will carry snacks and water in your bag on the trail. There are no places to stop during the stages. Drinks are not included.

MANAGEMENT OF THE TOUR

A tour manager will be available for the whole duration of this tour. Please turn to him regarding any questions, information, or issues.

MOTORBIKES, FUEL AND TYRE

On this tour, a rental bike and fuel are included. We have KTM, GASGAS and Husqvarna 4-stroke models available. All bikes are the latest models, professionally serviced, and in excellent condition. The bikes come with good tires in good condition suitable for the ride with mousses and are equipped with closed rally guards, motor skid plate, and fan.

MOTORBIKE SERVICE

On this tour, a professional mechanic services the bikes, with the service car meeting the riders at the lunch point and in the evening (where accessible) to fuel up and perform repairs. A spare bike is available.

DAMAGES ON THE RENTAL BIKE

We do not charge for normal wear of the bike (like scratches on the plastics). On this tour an insurance (CDW – Crash ‘Damage Waiver) is available which covers damages on the bike. See the terms of business for details.

EQUIPMENT AND GEAR

Minimum Enduro gear includes a helmet, goggles, elbow protectors (we recommend a protector jacket), gloves, pants, knee protectors, Enduro Jacket and Enduro boots. For this tour a good rain jacket and a backpack with a packing capacity of 20L+ and space for minimum 2L of Water, 2-3L of fuel, lunch snacks, and a waterproof mobile phone case are mandatory.

We recommend taking a second set of Enduro clothes with you.

PAYMENT CONDITIONS 

Deposit 1.300 EUR at booking, the balance is required 60 days before tour start.
